Arsenal and Liverpool have seen their hopes of signing Granit Xhaka boosted after Borussia Monchengladbach admitted they could be open to selling the highly-rated midfielder. The 23-year-old only signed a fresh deal at his current club in February 2015 but sporting director Max Eberl said: "It depends a bit on our own sporting success, it depends on Granit's own performances and of course it depends on the figures. If they reach a certain level, then you could start to get dizzy. There are always situations in which every club would have to make considerations."

Mario Balotelli could be in line for a shock return to the Premier League with the Brentwood Gazette reporting that West Ham are ready to bid £10m for the striker. The Italy international is still a Liverpool player but is currently on loan at AC Milan. The 25-year-old hasn't done much since returning to Serie A, making just three league appearances and scoring one goal.

Jamie Vardy will not be leaving Leicester City this month - that's been made abundantly clear by the Foxes. However, holding onto the England international in the summer might not be so easy, and according to reports today, they could be tempted by a £25m offer from Liverpool. The Star claim that the 29-year-old is seen as a 'modern day Ian Rush' on Merseyside.

John Stones is another that has been persistently linked with a move away - but should he leave Everton, it might not be for another Premier League club. According to the Daily Mail, Barcelona sent scouts to watch the England international in action against Chelsea. Three three goals conceded by the Toffees probably didn't increase the likelihood of a bid for the centre-back.

Sunderland are keen on Swansea striker Andre Ayew as they look to escape the drop. The Express report that they will increase their offer for the 26-year-old to £14m having seen an £11m bid fail.
