Your support makes all the difference.Frank Lampard wants to extend his loan stay at Manchester City and help the club beat Chelsea to the Premier League title, according to reports.
The 36-year-old came on as a substitute to score at St Mary's as City beat Southampton 3-0 on Sunday.
Lampard, who spent 13 years at Chelsea winning numerous trophies including three Premier League titles, is due to return to New York City next month to start life in the MLS.
But, according to the Daily Mail, Lampard wants to stay at the Etihad and fight his former club for the title.
City boss Manuel Pellegrini, has seen Lampard score five goals in 11 matches this season, is also keen for the England centurion to stay.
"We will sit down in December and decide what happens. He is a top professional," he said.
City are now six points off Chelsea after the Blues could only draw at Sunderland.
Pellegrini added: "We have to play 25 games more and it’s a lot of points. No one knows what happens in the future.
"In one week, you can change things. Chelsea are playing very well, but let’s see what happens in the future. We just have to work on us.
"There are many things we can complain about this year, such as the team conceding too many goals and not scoring as many as last season, but the only thing we cannot complain about is the spirit, the personality and ambition of this squad."
Speaking after the win, Lampard said:"I thought it was very good, we knew what we were coming up against today, a very good team in very good form, and I think you could see from the outset today that our attitude was absolutely bang on.
"The spirit was really there today and that's what won us the game."
