Your support makes all the difference.Chelsea have confirmed that they have reached an agreement that sees on-loan striker Fernando Torres remain with AC Milan on a permanent deal.
The Spaniard will join the Serie A club on 5 January, and has spent the season in Italy having fallen out of favour at Stamford Bridge since his £50m transfer from Liverpool in January 2011.
A Chelsea statement said: "Fernando Torres is to join AC Milan on a permanent basis.
"The striker moved to the San Siro on a two-year loan deal in August and on January 5 he will complete a permanent transfer to the Serie A side.
"Chelsea Football Club thanks Fernando for his service during the past four seasons and wishes him the very best for the future."
The 30-year-old became the record British transfer when he completed his switch from Liverpool that incurred the wrath of the Reds' fans. Despite failing to cut it with the Blues, he still managed to secure a Champions League title in 2011-12 with the FA Cup the same year, and the Europa League crown the following season.
Torres is a two-time European Championship winner with Spain and was also part of the side that won the 2010 World Cup, but he has ended his time in the Premier League having joined Liverpool from Atletico Madrid in 2007.
He leaves Chelsea having scored 45 goals in 172 games, with 20 of those coming in 110 matches in the Premier League.
