Leicester City have offered veteran midfielder Esteban Cambiasso a two-year deal, according to reports.
The 33-year-old Argentine is a free agent after his contract with Inter Milan expired at the end of last season.
Nigel Pearson is believed to have offered Cambiasso a two-year deal worth £5m, according to the Daily Mirror.
Cambiasso has previously been linked with West Ham, but the London club are thought to have asked the midfielder to come for a trial, whereas Leicester have not felt the need.
The ageing star is said to be keen on a move to England, though he is said to also have an offer from Spanish club Valencia on the table.
Cambiasso, who will turn 34 later this month, has enjoyed a glittering career with Real Madrid and Inter.
He played two seasons with Los Blancos winning La Liga in 2003 and the Intercontinental Cup - the forerunner to the Club World Cup.
He moved on a free transfer to Italy in 2004, becoming a stalwart in their side for 10 years.
Cambiasso made more than 400 appearances in blue and black, winning five Scudetto's, four Coppa Italias and the Club World Cup.
He was a key member of the 2010 treble winning team, playing brilliantly in the Champions League final as Jose Mourinho's team beat Bayern Munich.
Cambiasso also has more than 50 caps for Argentina and played in the 2006 World Cup.
