David De Gea to Real Madrid: Manchester United have 'agreement' over transfer, claims Ramon Calderon

Manchester United and Real Madrid have "an agreement" about David De Gea switching from Old Trafford to the Bernabeu, claims former Real president Ramon Calderon.

The goalkeeper came close to making the move last summer, only for the deal to collapse at the final moment amid accusations from both sides as to who was to blame.

Ultimately though, De Gea stayed and shortly afterwards signed a new long-term contract with Manchester United. However, it's widely reported that there is a clause in that contract relating to a move to Real Madrid. And according to Calderon, there is an agreement in place between the two clubs.

“It was really weird what happened last [summer],” Calderon told the TalkSport.

“[But] Keylor Navas is playing [well], like you saw last night [against Barcelona]. He’s doing that in many matches.

“It would be really strange if David De Gea came but no doubt he is one of the best and also he’s a Spaniard, which helps.

“Apparently there is some agreement. They had a deal from last [summer] for him to come but I can’t tell you [for sure] as I don’t have personal knowledge of that.”

De Gea kept a clean sheet in the 1-0 win over Everton on Sunday that put Manchester United just a point behind fourth place Man City.
