Bad news for Manchester United supporters.

Edurne Garcia, the girlfriend of David De Gea has agreed that Manchester is "uglier than the back of a fridge."

The 24-year-old De Gea has been linked with a move to Real Madrid this term, and the quotes from his girlfriend in a Spanish TV interview suggest that he could soon move back to his native Spain.

Garcia, 29, is a star in Spain, and the singer will represent the country in the next Eurovision Song contest.

On entertainment show El Hormiguero, Garcia agreed with host Pablo Motos's claim that Manchester is "uglier than the back of a fridge".

She was then quoted as saying: "It's not very nice, that's for sure. You have to hunt out specific places, the nicer places. But even then Spain is nicer. The reason I like it is because David’s there. With him being there, everything looks wonderful."

The goalkeeper joined from Atletico Madrid for £18m back in June 2011.
