The 24-year-old striker last night took to Twitter in search of a Spanish tutor and the social media site was quickly awash with rumours linking him with an Anfield exit.
He posted: "Who knows of a Spanish Tutor or wants to teach me? I know a little but not enough... Help a brother out!!!"
Real Madrid and Barcelona were the two destinations users were linking him to, though it seems unlikely the England man will follow former striker partner Luis Suarez to the continent.
Last season Sturridge enjoyed the best season of his young career, scoring 21 goals in the Premier League as Liverpool mounted an unlikely title challenge and finished second.
Despite the sale of star man Suarez, for £75m to Barcelona, Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has not really replaced the Uruguayan - Rickie Lambert will be a backup and Divock Origi has gone back to Lille on loan - leaving Sturridge as the main man up top.
When Suarez was banned for the opening stages of last season Sturridge thrived, scoring six goals in the eight games Suarez missed, including winning goals against Stoke, Aston Villa and Manchester United.
