Chelsea's attempts to bolster their strike force sees them linked with Lokomotiv Moscow striker Oumar Niasse. According to Italian journalist Matteo Pedrosi the reigning Premier League champions are "really interested" in signing the 25-year-old. The Senegal international is valued in the region of £7m having scored 12 goals in 21 appearances this season.

The Independent understands that Alex Teixeira is a target for Chelsea and according to Spanish outlet Fichajes, the Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder has been convinced of the move by two current Blues players. It's claimed that Willian, who Teixeira knows from their time shared in Ukraine, and fellow Brazilian Oscar have been talking up the club.

After a shoddy first half to the season by his standards, it's unsurprising to see Branislav Ivanovic linked with a move away. According to reports the Serbia international is wanted by AC Milan. With just six months remaining on his current contract and no agreement in place on a new deal, a move away for the 31-year-old looks a real possibility.

Chelsea's pursuit of John Stones looks likely to enter a new chapter this month, with reports suggesting they could be ready to offer as much as £50m to Everton for the centre-back. But it's not only the Toffees' reluctance to do business that could pose a problem, but also interest from Manchester United in the young England international.

Interim manager Guus Hiddink indicated after Chelsea's 3-0 win over Crystal Palace on Sunday that he thinks the club already has much quality at their disposal, meaning drastic improvements in playing staff will not be necessary this month. "We don’t need to add a lot of quality of players: they are blessed by nature with big quality," said the Dutchman.
