Besiktas are considering a January loan move for Chelsea misfit Mohamed Salah.

Egyptian winger Salah has started just three games so far this season – and none in the Premier League – prompting questions about just how important he is to Jose Mourino’s plans.

Chelsea have a close relationship with Besiktas after selling them Demba Ba last summer and Besiktas president Fikrit Orman said that he is considering another move for one of Mourinho’s players when the transfer window opens next month.

“Ron Gourlay was a good friend of ours,” Orman said. “We have a very good relationship with them. Will we do business with them in January? Why not?

“We are interested in some of their players, but not Petr Cech. We want to get loans for the second half of the season. It is very difficult to invest in players at the same time as building the stadium. We do not have stadium income.”

Salah – described by Orman as a “very good player” – is a likely target for Slaven Bilic’s side, who would be more able to buy him when their new stadium is open next summer. Besiktas may also seek to bring young midfielder Nathan Ake to Istanbul.
