Cardiff City manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is interested in signing West Ham United midfielder Ravel Morrison, according to reports.

The 21-year-old has reportedly been remanded in custody after an alleged assault of his ex-girlfriend and her mother in Manchester.

Solskjaer, on the other hand, is keen to strengthen after being less than impressed by his side's Championship opener against promotion rivals Blackburn Rovers.

"We can play loads better football than this but we dug out a result," he said at full-time.

"It was never going to be a pretty game. It's the first game, it's away from home and they don't let you settle."

While the South Wales club will have to keep an eye on Morrison's pending court case, the Bluebirds boss remains interested in securing his signature.

Before the accusations surfaced last week, Morrison was at the centre of a dispute between Sam Allardyce and the Hammers' hierarchy after the former Newcastle United boss stated that he wasn't part of his plans.

Solskjaer, however, believes he is the right man to finally get the best out of Morrison and is preparing a £3m package.

The pair worked together during his short term in the Old Trafford coaching set-up as reserve team manager.
