Your support makes all the difference.West Ham United and Arsenal look set to be frustrated in their pursuits of a new striker in January as Lyon prepare to offer forward Alexandre Lacazette a new deal at the club.
Both London clubs were linked with a move for the 25-year-old during the summer but after failing to agree a fee with the Gunners, they decided to bring in Lucas Perez instead.
The Hammers were also unsuccessful in their attempts to bring the Frenchman to the London Stadium with them after he reportedly rejected a move in favour of Arsenal.
However West Ham are back in for Lacazette, who has scored nine goals in nine appearances in all competitions so far this season.
Slaven Bilic is keen to bolster his attacking options after seeing his side manage only 10 goals in their 10 Premier League games as they sit one place outside the relegation zone.
Speaking following Lyon’s 2-1 victory over Toulouse on Saturday, Lyon President Jean Michel Aulas confirmed: “I would like for us to be able to extend Alexandre’s contract.”
West Ham are without strikers Diafra Sakho and Andy Carroll through injury, with the former set to be thrust back into action as soon as possible by the club.
Sakho has not played since failing a medical ahead of a proposed move to West Brom during the summer after feeling annoyed at not receiving a new contract while other player did.
Bilic brought in Simone Zaza on an initial loan deal but with a view to a £25m deal at the end of the season but he has been disappointing, with West Ham often playing without a striker this term.
