After a brilliant opening couple of months to the season Arsenal have stalled - and a familiar foe has reared it's ugly head.

The injury bug has again hit Arsene Wenger's squad and after winning five matches in a row to top the Premier League, the Gunners are now without a win in three matches and have dropped to fourth.

Wenger, famously, was the only manager in Europe who failed to buy an outfield player over the summer, goalkeeper Petr Cech his lone signing.

The Gunners currently have a whopping 10 players injured - to varying degrees of severity - with key men Francis Coquelin and Alexis Sanchez the latest to pick up serious injuries.

Wenger has left his squad short and although he isn't always keen on buying in January, must reinforce his squad if they are to challenge.

Here we take a look at the players that have been linked with the Gunners in recent weeks - some rather more fanciful than others.

We also look at the players who are at risk of getting the chop by Wenger.
