Any Arsenal supporters with lingering hopes of snaring Riyad Mahrez have been dealt a blow by Leicester City’s owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha.

The 59-year-old businessman uploaded a picture of him with the Algerian international to his private Instagram account after the Foxes’ 4-2 pre-season friendly defeat to Barcelona on Wednesday.

Srivaddhanaprabha is pinching Mahrez by the ear in the picture and, in the caption, he makes clear that last year’s PFA Player of the Year will not be leaving the King Power this summer.

“VS: You Not for sale!!,” he wrote, followed by: “Mahrez: Ok boss.”

According to BBC Sport's David Ornstein, however, the Gunners are not pursuing Mahrez anyway.

Nor are they in the market for Julian Draxler. As revealed by The Independent on Wednesday, Everton have emerged as surprise contenders for the Wolfsburg winger’s signature.

Shkodran Mustafi, though, is a target. Arsenal are yet to make a formal offer for the Valencia defender, who is currently in England on a pre-season tour with his current club.

According to the Daily Mail, however, an enquiry has been made about Mustafi’s availability.

The Germany international is reportedly valued at around £25m, despite having a buyout clause in his contract of £41m.

Those Jonny Evans whispers just will not go away either. The Mail’s report also mentions that an enquiry has been made about the West Bromwich Albion defender.

With Per Mertesacker out of contention for several months with a knee problem, Arsenal are in desperate need of strengthening reserves at the back.
