From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Arsenal are challenging for the Premier League title at the top of the table this season and have already qualified for the knockout stages of the Champions League. The Gunners have lost just one match all season, a 4-3 defeat to Liverpool on the opening day of the season, showing that all is well at the Emirates Stadium.
However, manager Arsene Wenger is reportedly intent on strengthening his forward line, where Olivier Giroud has struggled for game time as second-choice behind Alexis Sanchez.
Meanwhile, summer signing Lucas Perez has looked out of place and is currently out with an ankle injury until mid-December.
Any injury to their starting back four would leave Arsenal short in quality and so a defender could be brought in to provide back-up to Laurent Koscielny and summer signing Shkodran Mustafi, who have formed an extremely impressive partnership in such a short space of time. As ever, Wenger’s side have been linked with a whole of host of young talent who could move to the Emirates to develop under the guidance of the French manager.
Arsenal are known to succumb to injuries in the second half of the season and to fall away from title contention, and so Wenger could be willing to improve his side’s strength in depth to ensure that the Gunners can compete on all fronts until the end of May.
