A whopping £64m move for Real Madrid forward Isco is being lined up by Arsenal according to reports this morning. The Spanish player, a favourite among fans at the Bernabeu, could be squeezed out of his current club as Real Madrid keep faith in Gareth Bale. Isco is apparently open to a switch to the Emirates whilst the huge bid is apparently designed to ward off interest from other clubs including Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City.
Arsenal have made Morgan Schneiderlin one of their primary targets, but must gear themselves up for a battle with Tottenham for the midfielder. Southampton are hugely resistant to any January move for the 25-year-old having been so defiant over his future last summer. That's left the Gunners targeting a move at the end of the season for a fee of around £25m - but Spurs will be right there with them. More on that story here.
Polish teenager Krystian Bielik could be arriving imminently. The 17-year-old, currently at Legia Warsaw, visited the Arsenal training ground last month and is considered one for the future once the club get a deal through for him that could be worth up to £2m for his Polish club. An initial bid for the player from Arsenal has already been rejected.
The Gunners are reportedly showing interest in left-back Raphael Guerreiro, the Lorient player who has two caps for Portugal. The 21-year-old is primarily a defender but can also operate on the wing.
The fall-out from Wojciech Szczesny being caught smoking in the showers has seen Arsenal's efforts to sign a goalkeeper stepped up. The Polish stopper was caught puffing after the Gunners' 2-0 defeat to Southampton on New Year's Day in which he was to blame for both goals conceded. That's left his future in doubt and today Arsene Wenger has been linked with making moves for Chelsea's Petr Cech and Tottenham's Hugo Lloris.
