Mohamed Elneny’s move to Arsenal from Basel to Arsenal has been confirmed, by his Basel team-mate Albian Ajeti.

"I'm happy for you Mohamed El Nenny success in Arsenal," the 18-year-old wrote on a Facebook post alongside a picture of the two together.

Only yesterday, in a statement on their website, Basel explained the midfielder's absence from training because "there could be a transfer in the coming days".

A fee of around £7.3m has been agreed for the 23-year-old and a medical completed - the only hold up is receiving international clearance for the Egyptian, although the issue is expected to be resolved.

Further reports have claimed Arsenal could announce the deal as soon as today.

Wojciech Szczesny has been told he has a future at Arsenal, according to reports.

The Polish goalkeeper is on loan at Roma for the rest of this season, and it has been reported today that the Gunners want him back at the club next season.

The Daily Mirror have reported that manager Arsene Wenger wants to give the player a second chance, and have told Roma they want him back.

It is expected he will deputise for No 1 Petr Cech.

Reports of Mathieu Debuchy’s exit from Arsenal are gathering pace.

The latest club he has been linked with is West Brom, who will reportedly pay £1m to take him on loan for the rest of the season.

The French right-back has lost his place in the Gunners starting XI to Hector Bellerin this term, and has spoken about his frustrations at his lack of playing time at the Emirates.
