Arsenal's midfield will soon be given a £52m boost, with deals for both Borussia Monchengladbach’s Granit Xhaka and Paris Saint-Germain’s Adrien Rabiot on the brink of completion, according to reports.

The Daily Star report that Arsene Wenger has been given the green light to sign £37m Xhaka, 23 and £15m Rabiot, 20.

The report adds that Rabiot's mother, who also acts as his agent, is in London for talks with the Gunners.

Xhaka is in demand this month, and the Swiss player has also been linked with Liverpool and Tottenham in this window.

Staying with the Gunners midfield, Wenger has revealed that the signing of Mohamed Elneny will be announced within the "next 24 hours".

When asked about the Egyptian player, who has completed a medical ahead of his £7.4m move, the manager said in his briefing after the Gunners' 3-1 FA Cup third round win over Sunderland:

"“We hope to announce a player in the next 24 to 48 hours.

“I don’t need to tell you the name. After that we will see [about other deals]."

Elsewhere, Sevilla midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak has fuelled speculation that he is interested in a move to Arsenal by acknowledging the club's interest in signing him.

The 25-year-old Poland international told FourFourTwo magazine: "I’ve heard about Arsenal, but I leave it to my agent. I trust him and he’s the one who deals with that kind of the stuff.

"I can’t think about things like that. I have to keep my mind free of any distraction and just focus on doing my job for Sevilla."

Aaron Ramsey could be set to leave the club in the summer, with Barcelona weighing up a £50m bid for the player, according to reports.

The Daily Express have reported that Barca manager Luis Enrique is a big fan of the player, and he is one of Barca's top targets for the summer.
