From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Athletic Bilbao goalkeeper Gorka Iraizoz insists he is happy with the club despite speculation linking him with a transfer in the near future.
The 29-year-old former Espanyol shot-stopper, who has been linked with both Barcelona and Arsenal recently, is out of contract at the end of this season.
He said of the rumours: "If I stop to think what's going to happen in the future, I'm not going to enjoy what I have now, which is important.
"I've always been grateful to Athletic and I am happy they trust me. That's good news for everyone. I am focused on defending the colours of Athletic, continuing working as usual and not thinking about the rumours.
“I see the rumours as a compliment to the work of the whole team. The goal is to keep working every day to the fullest and giving 100 per cent to Athletic so that we can hold our heads up high."
