Arsenal striker Robin van Persie 'set to join Manchester United'

Wantaway Arsenal captain Robin van Persie could sign for Manchester United as early as today according to the Manchester Evening News.
The Dutch striker's future has been the subject of much speculation since he announced he would not renew his existing contract at the Emirates, which has one-year to run.
Manchester United have openly admitted their interest in last season's Premier League top scorer.
Manchester City were considered to be in the mix, although manager Roberto Mancini revealed earlier this week he did not expect the Netherlands international to sign for the champions, saying a deal was "unlikely".
The latest development according to the MEN is that Juventus, the other main contenders chasing Van Persie's signature, have cooled their interest after baulking at the Dutchman's wage demands.
That leaves United, who appear willing to come close to meeting the £25m fee Arsenal are seeking, as the only serious remaining option for the 29-year-old.
