Angel Di Maria is on the verge of a move to Manchester United after agreeing personal terms, according to reports.

The Argentine midfielder looks set to join Louis van Gaal's new regime at Old Trafford after reports that the 26-year-old has accepted the club's £150,000-a-week offer.

Van Gaal, who will take over officially as United boss once his World Cup campaign with the Netherlands ends on Saturday, has reportedly left transfer dealings in the hands of executive vice-chairman Edward Woodward.

If a deal for Di Maria is agreed, he would become the club's third signing this summer after Luke Shaw and Ander Hererra.

Di Maria's prospects of remaining at Real Madrid are apparently very small, with the club unwilling to meet the player's exorbitant wage demands.

However Madrid and United differ in their valuation for Di Maria, with the Spanish club wanting around £40m and United only willing to pay £30m.

The signing of the Argentine would represent a coup for Woodward who was widely criticised for his inefficacy in the transfer market during the reign of David Moyes.
