Alan Pardew is reportedly interested in bringing Prodigal Son Andy Carroll back to Newcastle United.

The Sunday People report that Pardew is prepared to offer West Ham £15m for the 25-year-old striker who scored just twice in an injury-hit campaign in east London last season.

Since his £35m move from Newcastle to Liverpool the powerful No 9 has struggled with the pressure of his price tag and injuries.

Since that move in January 2011, Carroll has scored just 15 goals in 83 matches - in his final six months on Tyneside he scored 11 in 19 Premier League matches.

Carroll's wages could provide a stumbling block for the Magpies, with Carroll believed to be earning around £120,000-per-week at Upton Park.

He is also reportedly happy living in and around London with his The Only Way is Essex girlfriend Billi Mucklow.

Newcastle have already moved for Remy Cabella, Emmanuel Riviere, Siem de Jong, Daryl Janmaat, Ayoze Perez and Jack Colback this summer as they look to improve on a dismal second half to last season that sparked fan protests.
