Your support makes all the difference.Chelsea could be set to push through a deal to sign Corinthians striker Alexandre Pato after Diego Costa suffered a bruised tibia during the 3-3 draw with Everton.
The Blues backroom team have been reassured the Spain international did not suffer a fracture but remain in the dark about the time scale of his spell on the sidelines.
According to the Daily Telegraph, Costa’s injury woe could provoke Guus Hiddink’s men into signing former AC Milan forward Pato, regularly linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.
The 26-year-old has spent much of the last year on loan with São Paulo, scoring 19 goals in 59 appearances. Returning to Europe would present the Brazilian with the opportunity to break back into Dunga’s squad where he previously earned 17 caps, netting ten times, before falling out of favour.
Liverpool and Arsenal have been linked with Pato in recent weeks but Chelsea are thought to be the club with the most desire to do a deal.
Hiddink takes his Blues side to the Emirates on Sunday to face the current Premier League leaders with his side just six points above the relegation zone.
Loic Remy, linked with moves to Newcastle United and Aston Villa this January, is their only fit striker for the trip across the capital.
Costa, meanwhile, has scored five goals in the five games interim manager Hiddink has been in charge
