Controversial agent Aidy Ward is set to make at least £2million from Raheem Sterling's £49million move to Manchester City, according to reports.

The Daily Mail report that Ward will take home five per cent of Sterling's wages for the entirety of his five-year deal at the Etihad. With the forward's wages reported to be between £180-200,000-a-week; that is anywhere from £2.43m to £2.6m.

Out of that money Ward, who became a hate figure for Liverpool fans after the way Sterling left the Merseyside club, will also have to pay a fee to Sports Impact Management, the agency he left to set up on his own.

The fee is set to be paid over the length of Sterling's contract, the paper report.

Sterling joined the rest of the City squad in Australia for their pres-season tour on Wednesday after thanking Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers.

"I’d like to thank Brendan Rodgers for giving me a chance and an opportunity in the first team, giving me my full debut – against City, funnily enough – and giving me a real chance to cement a place in the first team and show the world my talents," said the 20-year-old.

"I’d also like to thank all the people around me – my mum and sisters, my management team, and Aidy Ward - for helping me focus and get where I am today. I just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone."
