Adrien Rabiot, who has been linked with Arsenal, has requested a loan move when the January transfer window opens.

In an interview with Telefoot the France Under-21 international revealed that he has spoken to PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi about his frustration at his lack of first-team opportunities this season, during which he asked that he be loaned out for the remainder of the season.

“I’ve asked the president for a loan move in January if my time on the field is insufficient," the 20-year-old said. "It’s something that he can’t refuse me - I know he likes me very much.”

Arsenal are in need of reinforcements having seen their midfield depleted by injury. Santi Cazorla will be out for at least three months, Alexis Sanchez is not expected to play again this year, Jack Wilshere remains sidelined, Mikel Arteta has picked up a strain, Thomas Rosicky won't return until the New Year and Francis Coquelin is out until at least February.

Despite his young age, Rabiot has made close to 100 appearances for PSG, helping the club to a number of trophies along the way. He tends to play in a central role from where he is adept at moving the ball forward as he is breaking up play.

Tottenham have also been linked with interest in the player.
