Two out-of-form sides do battle at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this weekend, as Mauricio Pochettino's Spurs take on Watford.

Tottenham have won just three of their eight Premier League games this season, and scrutiny on the North London club increased after they were hammered 7-2 by Bayern Munich in the Champions League, which was then followed up by a 3-0 defeat at Brighton.

Spurs have also suffered a surprise home defeat to Newcastle and a loss at Leicester City in the league - form which sees them sit ninth in the table.

However they face a Watford side rooted to the bottom of the league and who are still without a league win after eight games.

The Hornets have not found the net in any of their last three Premier League matches, and are still without a few key players ahead of the visit to Tottenham.

Prediction - Tottenham 2-0 Watford

Tottenham's wretched run of form has been well-documented, but following a much-needed international break and attempts to restore unity in the squad, this will be a fixture which Pochettino will believe will help his side recover their confidence.

Harry Kane looked sharp for England and Lucas and Alli should be raring to go after a period of rest, and although it is their defence that has been the concern they face a Watford side who have managed just four Premier League goals this season.

The Hornets have shipped 10 goals without reply in their last three league games, and therefore taking anything away from Spurs appears to be a tall order, no matter the problems around Pochettino's men this summer.

Team news

Mauricio Pochettino is likely to make a few changes to the side that was beaten 3-0 by Brighton before the international break.

Paulo Gazzanigga is set for a run in the side following Hugo Lloris' dislocated elbow, which ruled the Frenchman out of action until the new year.

Christian Eriksen and Heung-min Son are the other two players likely to miss out having started the game on the south coast, with the former suffering a dead leg with Denmark on international duty while the latter played in North Korea on Tuesday. Dele Alli and Lucas Moura, neither of whom were picked to represent their countries in the international break, are likely to come in for Eriksen and Son.

Having conceded 10 goals in two games, the Argentine may also consider a change at centre-back to break the partnership between Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld, with Davinson Sanchez in line for a starting berth.

Watford meanwhile will be without Etienne Capoue, Sebastian Prodl and Isaac Success for the visit to Spurs, with the trio in the final stages of recovering from back, hamstring and groin problems respectively.

Captain Troy Deeney also made a significant step in his rehabilitation following a knee injury this week, but the game also comes too soon for the striker.

Predicted line-up

Tottenham: Gazzanigga, Sissoko, Sanchez, Vertonghen, Rose, Ndombele, Winks, Lucas, Alli, Lamela, Kane

Watford: Foster, Janmaat, Catchart, Dawson, Kabasele, Holebas, Cleverley, Doucoure, Pereyra, Welbeck, Deulofeu

Odds

Tottenham are the favourites in this meeting despite their terrible recent form, with Paddy Power backing them 2/5.

Watford can however be backed to secure a shock away victory for odds of 13/2.

For a draw you can get odds of 7/2.
