From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Some time around May, something amazing happened in the mind of football pundit Chris Kamara: he decided to start taking ridiculous selfies wherever he went.

A firm favourite on Sky Sports, Kamara is known for his humour and buffoonery, coining the phrase "fighting like beavers" and thinking that Anthony Vanden Borre was being substituted for Portsmouth when he was actually being sent off.

Therefore, it was always going to be enjoyable when Kamara began taking up Twitter, providing a fascinating insight into the life of the former Portsmouth and Swindon player. Yet it was only until around May this year that Kamara decided that when he arrived at a stadium to commentate, he would take a selfie with the ground, showing a knack for the latest camera craze.

Not that Kamara only tweets bizarre images of himself around the country: you can also see him hanging out with best mate Jeff Stelling, performing a whole load of household chores and chasing down a suspected thief at the World Cup in Brazil.

As 2014 draw to a close, it's only worth taking a tour of the country's football grounds with Kamara and congratulate him on utilising the selfie craze with aplomb.
