From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

The Celtic manager Gordon Strachan warned against expectations of an easy win when his side take on struggling Hamilton tomorrow. The champions will travel to New Douglas Park top of the table after nine successive wins and on the back of arguably the most one-sided league game of the season when they coasted to a 3-0 home win over Kilmarnock on Wednesday. By contrast, after a bright start to their first season in the SPL, Billy Reid's young side find themselves already facing the prospect of a relegation battle having failed to win any of their last eight games. However, Strachan, pointed to a shock defeat at Falkirk two seasons ago when his side lost 1-0 to a Steven Thompson goal.

"It was the same situation as Accies [Falkirk had not won in eight games] and we got beaten, so we have had that reminder before. Everywhere we go to play, the opposition get themselves up for it." Young striker Cillian Sheridan, who grabbed a double against Killie, should partner Scott McDonald once again as Georgios Samaras makes his way back to full fitness.
