From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Rangers have confirmed Queen of the South striker Nicky Clark as the club's fourth summer signing.

The 21-year-old has penned a three-year deal and was due to be unveiled at Ibrox at 12.15pm today.

He joins Dundee United striker Jon Daly, Kilmarnock goalkeeper Cammy Bell and midfielder Nicky Law of Motherwell, who all confirmed moves to the Glasgow side last week.

Clark will follow in the footsteps of his father Sandy - who made over 60 appearances for Rangers between 1983 and 1984 - when he puts pen to paper.

The forward will not be registered until September 1 due to a transfer embargo but will join Ally McCoist's squad for pre-season training.

Clark netted 41 goals in all competitions this season as the Doonhamers were crowned Irn-Bru Second Division champions and also lifted the Ramsdens Cup, earning him the PFA Scotland Division Two player of the year award.
