From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Inverness chairman, Kenny Cameron, has criticised Rangers for taking the Scottish Football Association to court.

Rangers overturned their 12-month transfer embargo in the Court of Session on Tuesday after a judge ruled that an SFA panel had no right to impose the punishment under the governing body's rules.

Rangers could face more severe sanctions if the disrepute charge returns to an SFA appeal panel, with the stated punishments including suspension or expulsion from the game.

Fifa has urged the SFA to take "direct action" against Rangers for ignoring regulations prohibiting clubs from taking national associations to court.

Cameron told Inverness's website: "Taking sporting matters to the Court of Session was a serious mistake."
