The Pars had been 2-1 ahead when the first match had been stopped and they quickly took control again, scuppering any hopes the home side of causing an upset.
Barry Nicholson converted a 19th-minute penalty after Stuart McCluskey was sent off for pulling back Billy Mehmet and added a second in the 38th minute when set up by Scott Thomson. Lee Bullen made it 3-0 before half-time when Gary Dempsey's corner was poorly cleared.
Neither side made changes at the break but Andy Tod dropped into the Pars' defence and Bullen joined Mehmet up front. Mehmet was presented with a good chance right in front of goal but struck his shot right at Mensing. Tod then headed wide from a corner before Dunfermline took Scott Wilson off and sent on Sean Kilgannon in the 53rd minute in another tactical reshuffle.
The Pars remained in control with Clyde having rare glimpses of goal, their best chanec coming in the last minute when Derek Stillie touched Colin Marshall's 30-yard free-kick on to the crossbar.
