From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Your support makes all the difference.

Neil Lennon has admitted his interest in Abdoulaye Faye but denied the Stoke defender was in Glasgow preparing to sign.

The Hoops boss has no central defenders available for tomorrow's Clydesdale Bank Premier League clash with Aberdeen at Pittodrie and is searching desperately for cover.

Asked about Faye, Lennon replied: "I don't think he is in Glasgow.

"He is a name that we have been linked with along with a lot of other names.

"He is one that does interest us but I have nothing to say on it.

"We are looking to add to the strikers roster as well but it is difficult and it is very late in the month.

"We are still working on a few things but there is nothing definitive yet.

"We are hoping we will have something over the next few hours but there is nothing guaranteed."

Thomas Rogne became the latest central defender to drop out with an injury after sustaining a calf strain during the Co-operative Insurance Cup semi-final win over the Dons at Hampden on Saturday.
