From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

Christian Nade spared Hearts from another defeat at the hands of Hibernian in a thrilling Edinburgh derby at Easter Road yesterday.

An own goal from Hearts captain Christophe Berra under pressure from opposite number Rob Jones gave the home side a half-time lead. But striker Nade's equaliser 50 seconds after the restart allowed Hearts to earn a deserved draw.

Both teams had chances to find a winner in the second half and Hibernian striker Steven Fletcher had a close-range header disallowed because of a push.

The home side started brightly with Fletcher's 25-yard drive whistling wide. Despite Hearts gaining more possession, Hibernian took the lead in the 18th minute. Filipe Morais sent in a corner from the right and Jones stretched his left leg across marker Andrius Velicka, although the ball appeared to spin in at the near post via Berra.

Hearts enjoyed the perfect start to the second half as they drew level within 50 seconds of the kick-off. Jones conceded a sloppy corner which was taken by Michael Stewart and drifted through to Andrew Driver on the other side of the area. Driver's cross was nodded on by Audrius Ksanavicius and bundled in by the thigh of Nade from four yards.

Driver was allowed to drift in from his right-wing beat twice, but first his shot was held by Yves Ma-Kalambay and then he sent his second effort swerving high and wide of the target.

The Englishman should have put Hearts in front in the 64th minute but shot too high. Hibernian thought they had regained the lead in the 66th minute but Fletcher's header was disallowed following a push on Berra.
