From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. Sol Campbell is in Glasgow holding talks with Celtic over a potential move.

The veteran defender has been at Celtic Park today as Hoops boss Neil Lennon steps up his efforts to recruit the 35-year-old.

Campbell spent five years at Arsenal and impressed during his second spell with the Gunners after returning on a short-term deal in January.

He is now a free agent and Celtic are reportedly set to offer him a two-year deal to make the switch to the Clydesdale Bank Premier League, a move he has so far refused to rule out.

Speaking earlier this month, Campbell said: "Football's very important to me and I would give Celtic everything if I sign."

Lennon is keen to strengthen his squad after being handed the manager's job on a permanent basis, following a successful spell as caretaker boss in the wake of Tony Mowbray's departure.

As well as Campbell, he has also been linked with a loan move for Hull City's Jimmy Bullard, while former Aberdeen defender Charlie Mulgrew is reportedly another target.
