Wolves midfielder Jamie O'Hara was confronted by a section of angry fans outside the main entrance when holding his toddler son following the 2-0 setback against fellow strugglers Blackburn last weekend.
Supporters also tackled club owner Steve Morgan after the Rovers setback left Wanderers in the Barclays Premier League bottom three.
Wolves caretaker manager Terry Connor said: "It really is unacceptable for players to be abused on their way to their cars.
"If the same happens this weekend, the players will be advised not to go out through the front (main) entrance. They can leave the ground in a more secure manner.
"Whenever there is discontent, it is directed at one part of the club but it involves us all.
"We are all in it together. It affects us all."
Connor has suffered a double injury setback ahead of the United clash with midfield duo Nenad Milijas and Jamie O'Hara unable to train today.
Milijas has a calf injury while O'Hara is again being troubled by the groin problem which had required surgery in December.
Connor said: "Nenad is struggling to be fit and it's 60-40 against Jamie being available."
