Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Wilshere, who turned 17 on New Year's Day, became the youngest player to represent the Gunners in league football when he came off the bench against Blackburn in September.
Manager Arsene Wenger said: "We are delighted Jack has signed a professional contract with us.
"He is a player with great potential, with an ability to find the final ball and also score goals.
"Jack is a passionate and committed young player, he is not afraid of tackles and I am convinced he will have tremendous penetrative power in a few years.
"We have already seen his qualities in both his first team performances and in training on a regular basis, and we look forward to Jack being an important part of our first team for years to come."
Wilshere scored his first Arsenal goal in their 6-0 Carling Cup win over Sheffield United in September and is also the youngest player to have turned out for Arsenal in Europe.
