From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

Can West Ham put an end to their dry spell of defeats and bag their second win on London Stadium soil? However, the in-form Southampton won't make it easy for them, as they enter the bout following two home wins in the league and cup.

This fixture has all of the ingredients for a thrilling 90 minutes of football.

Zaza wins his side a free-kick in a dangerous position as he is pushed to the ground. This is a more realistic distance for Payet to hit the target and test Forster. Seeing the French professional lining up a free kick, armed with his reputation of set piece brilliance is enough to make any goalkeeper's knees tremble.

But, it's an anti-climax. He sends the ball into the box and it is easily dealt with.

Balls continue to be put into the box for Southampton, but there is no final product. Adrian continues to come out on top as he easily collects the crossed balls.

Bertrand wins his side a corner, but it poses no real threat and Payet deals with the danger. Reid goes down in the box holding his head, but it's not a big injury and he gets back up on his feet.

A West Ham attack draws to a close, as Lanzini breaks but delivers a poor cross into the box that goes straight off for a goal kick. That's poor from him and rather out of character. He should be doing better from such a dangerous position.

HALF TIME SUBSTITUTION

Lanzini is replaced by Feghouli.

AND WE'RE OFF...

West Ham seem to have gone off the boil, but the introduction of the Algerian professional could see Payet playing a more central role which could cause some problems for The Saints defence.

They are still yet to have a shot on target today.

Kouyate goes to the ground, following a head injury from an aerial duel. He receives treatment on the field, but it looks although he will play on.
