Your support makes all the difference.West Ham United will investigate after a supporter was involved in an unsavoury confrontation with West Bromwich Albion’s Jake Livermore during last night’s game at the London Stadium.
Livermore confronted a West Ham supporter, exchanging words, when the England midfielder was substituted in the second half. The two clubs will now work together to get to find out what caused the incident, which led to Livermore being escorted away from the pitch by stewards. West Brom assistant manager John Carver was also involved in a confrontation with the West Ham fans immediately after.
West Brom manager Alan Pardew suggested afterwards that Livermore must have been “provoked severely” by the West Ham fan. “The only thing I know is that I saw Jake in the crowd, which disturbed me,” Pardew said. “Obviously you don’t want to see a player in the crowd. There’s no way he’s going in the crowd, because I know him, and he’s a great lad, unless he was provoked severely. That’s all I know.”
