Tottenham are poised to clinch the £7m transfer of Brazil under-20 captain Sandro according to reports.

A story in today's Mirror suggests Harry Redknapp will tie up a deal to bring the midfielder to White Hart Lane once the Brazilian season finishes this weekend.

Sandro is highly rated and Tottenham's scouts have been impressed with the combative midfielder's performances.

Redknapp was quoted earlier this year as saying: "We've been looking at Sandro. He's just breaking into the Brazilian team from the Under-21s. He can play. He's a modern-day midfield player."

The 20-year-old, who currently plays for Internacional, is due to fly to London later this month to sign a deal according to the report.
