From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

It’s a big game for…

Heung-Min Son: The South Korean will make his first start for nearly two months following a foot injury. Son is expected to replace the suspended Erik Lamela, and will need to put in a big performance to keep the improving Argentine out of the side. After a promising start to his Spurs career, Son will be hoping for a long spell in the starting line-up.

Best stat…

1: The number of times West Ham have lost away from home this season, only Arsenal have a better record on the road. Slaven Bilić’s side have won four out of six away games including wins at Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool. Tottenham will be in for a tough test this weekend.

Remember when…

Ravel Morrison scored a great solo effort to wrap up a 3-0 win for West Ham at White Hart Lane back in 2013?

Player to watch…

Dele Alli: The 19-year-old has been impressive form for Tottenham this season and he carried that form into his first England start on Tuesday, capping the performance with a wonderful long-range effort. Alli has formed a blossoming partnership with Eric Dier, so if Tottenham make it 12 unbeaten in the league, then it’ll be down to the job Alli an Dier do on Sunday against a West Ham side in good form on the road.
