There have been reports that Sao Paulo are interested in signing the 25-year-old who has endured an indifferent season at White Hart Lane. But with the manager likely to be on his way, the Brazilian could be persuaded to stay and fight for his place.
Talking to ESPN Brazil, Sandro said: “He [Tim Sherwood] will leave at the end of the season. Then, new coach, new everything.”
The Brazilian has clashed with Sherwood this season.
He posted a message on Twitter just hours before Tottenham’s 3-1 victory over Fulham in April in which he took a swipe at his manager’s decision to leave him out of the squad.
He wrote: “Good morning Guys, just to let you know that I'm not injured! Hope that we can win the game today.”
This prompted Sherwood to say Sandro was not currently ‘good enough’ in his post-match interview.
Sandro’s future at the club is unsure with a return to his birth country a possibility, although the midfielder admits that any move would be unlikely and difficult.
He said: “I do not know anything yet, but I’m happy to have my name talked about with a club the size of Sao Paulo. Anyway, it would be very difficult to leave on loan from here.
“If I was to leave, it would have to be permanently and it is not close. Other teams have come, however, with little money. President [Daniel Levy] negotiates every transfer, this was the case for [Gareth] Bale, it is not easy.”
Sandro has only started nine times for Tottenham in the league this season, scoring once.
