The Northern Irishman was sacked by Liverpool in October, deposed at Anfield by Jurgen Klopp, and has been out of work since, turning down a host of offers from at home and abroad.
According to the Daily Express, Rodgers has come round to the idea of returning to the Liberty Stadium after rebuffing the opportunity down when Garry Monk was dismissed in December.
Francesco Guidolin remains in charge of the Swans until May but is not expected to stay on in Wales with some reports suggesting the 60-year-old is among the candidates to replace Antonio Conte as Italy head coach.
It is said that Rodgers’ return to Swansea is such a foregone conclusion that he has even drawn up a shortlist of players who the Premier League club are looking into before the end of the campaign.
After a season of struggle at the depths of the table, the Swans now appear safe from the threat of relegation following three wins in four, including the 2-1 victory against Arsenal at the Emirates earlier this month.
