Victor Wanyama has been omitted from Southampton's squad to face Norwich City today, as he nears his transfer to Tottenham Hotspur before Tuesday's deadline.

Just this week it was reported that the Kenyan was unhappy at Southampton, and has reiterated his desire to leave this summer.

Sky Sports reported that he told Southampton officials on Friday that he wanted to leave.

The midfielder did not travel to Denmark for the midweek Europa League defeat because of a "stomach infection" and speculation linking him with a move to Tottenham will only heighten with the latest news.
