From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. The Leicester City defender is suspended for the final home match of the season against Everton after receiving a three-match ban for clashing with Marouane Fellaini in the 1-1 draw with Manchester United last weekend, meaning he will also miss the first game of next season.
Huth’s absence will not be hugely felt though given that the Foxes have already wrapped up the title following Tottenham’s failure to beat Chelsea on Monday, and he will be allowed to join Danny Drinkwater – who is also suspended – for the title celebrations following the final whistle of today’s match at the King Power Stadium.
In the true party spirit that will engulf Leicester this afternoon, Huth took to Twitter to post an early joke at the expense of his former teammate Terry, mocking the Chelsea captain’s appearance following the Blues’ Champions League victory in 2012.
Huth wrote: "Going full John Terry today!! #fullkit #LCFC."
Terry, who was suspended for the final against Bayern Munich after being sent-off in the semi-final, joined his teammates to celebrate lifting the trophy in a full Chelsea kit – despite being ineligible to play that day.
It remains to be seen whether Huth will deliver on his promise, and if Drinkwater will join him and the rest of the squad in a full Leicester kit – which will be next season’s version after the club decided to give fans an early glimpse of what the Premier League champions will wear in 2016/17.
