Oxford plays as a defensive midfielder, and makes his league debut against the Gunners.
Highly-rated Oxford has started three of West Ham's Europa League qualifiers this summer.
He became the Hammers youngest-ever player when he turned out for them in the 3-0 Europa League qualifying win over Andorran minnows Lusitans at Upton Park on 2 July.
The Hammers co-chairman David Gold has said that Oxford will play for England in the future.
"Reece Oxford is sixteen years old and a great prospect, his time will come," Gold had said. "He will play for England, in my opinion."
He penned a new long-term deal to stay at the Hammers back in January, and said at the time:" It's great to get the deal done and I'll try to kick on now and get into the first team. “The fans are committed to me, they really wanted me to sign. They love their players here."
