Redknapp urges Spurs to keep playing for pleasure

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Harry Redknapp hopes Tottenham can harness their gathering momentum at Ewood Park tomorrow.
Since their 5-1 defeat to Manchester City in August, Spurs are unbeaten in nine games, including home wins over Liverpool and Arsenal.
They travel to Blackburn tomorrow and Redknapp hopes to maintain their run and their style of play. "We want to keep that going," he said. "We've got good spirit here, we're in good form and playing well. I like us when we play, I like the way we play football."
Redknapp put the loss to City down to a lack of midfield options. "We had an open team [against City]," he added. "It was too open a team, I had no choices that day. I had Niko Kranjcar playing central midfield. But we're a stronger team now: Sandro's coming back and Scott Parker's made a massive difference."
The arrivals of Parker and Emmanuel Adebayor have energised Spurs, and Redknapp has a selection issue over whom to partner with the Togolese. "The biggest problem I've had is whether I play Rafael van der Vaart or Jermain Defoe with him," he said. "Van der Vaart's scored in the last three games, and Defoe scored on Sunday [at Newcastle]."
