Your support makes all the difference.Louis van Gaal's decision to omit Radamel Falcao from the entire squad for Manchester United's defeat to Southampton has been mocked by Faustino Asprilla.
The former Newcastle striker, who collected 57 Colombia caps during his career, spent the 1-0 defeat for the Red Devils trolling Van Gaal on Twitter.
Falcao was surprisingly left out by Van Gaal for the match, with the Manchester United manager explaining that the decision was tactical. Instead of the £265,000-a-week striker taking his place in the dug-out, Van Gaal opted for youngster James Wilson and three centre-backs.
With Manchester United failing to register a single shot on target during the game, something that hasn't happened at Old Trafford for five years, the decision to leave out the on-loan Monaco player seemed all the more bizarre.
Asprilla expressed his surprise on Twitter at the omission of Falcao when he tweeted: "@FALCAO only reason to watch @ManUtd #FalcaoaTigerinaCage"
He then posted a message in Spanish which read: "Happy for the goal of @Cuadrado [Juan Cuadrado] but frustrated by not seeing our @Falcao play #FalcaoaTigerinaCage"
When Southampton went ahead through a Dusan Tadic goal, Asprilla began to stick the boot in to Van Gaal: "Golllll del @SouthamptonFC 1 #VanMaal @ManUtd 0"
Asprilla then went on to raise a wider argument, suggesting that Van Gaal did not know how to get the best out of South American players, citing Rivaldo and Juan Riquelme who played under the Dutchman at Barcelona.
"Riquelme, Rivaldo and now @FALCAO. Definitely #VanMaal you are bad with South Americans. @ManUtd need to act #FalcaoaTigerinaCage"
Manchester United are next in action away against QPR on Saturday where there will be much interest surrounding the team-sheet - particularly from Asprilla.
