However, they struggled towards the end of last season and West Brom fans will be concerned with last season’s top scorer, Romelu Lukaku, returning to Chelsea having ended his loan spell. Eyes will now be on new signing Nicholas Anelka to see if he can still pose a strong attacking threat.
Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino begins his first full season in charge at Southampton and will be hoping to start the season with a positive result at The Hawthorns. The Saints have strengthened their squad, spending over £20m with the acquisition of defender Dejan Lovran and midfielder Victor Wanyama from Lyons and Celtic respectively.
