The arrival of Mesut Ozil at the Emirates seems to have been the missing link in Wenger’s project that has persistently underwhelmed for the best part of a decade. The effortless quality of the German playmaker, along with Aaron Ramsey’s resurgence in form and Olivier Giroud finally living up to the reputation he made in France has led to Arsenal playing some of the best football they have produced since the Invincibles. They have won their last 10 matches matches in all competitions, maintaining a perfect record since their opening day defeat to Aston Villa.
However confidence is also high at West Brom, especially after their victory against Manchester United at Old Trafford where they were good value for their win. That made it back to back wins for Steve Clarke’s men who are now unbeaten in three matches and find themselves in the top half of the table. Key to their form is Morgan Amalfitano who has two goals in the league this season and has the talent to change a game in an instant.
