From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

Every week, The Independent's digital sports team picks out the key players, performances and talking points from the weekend's Premier League action.

Simon Rice and Jack de Menezes discuss Manchester United's draw with Chelsea after a last gasp equaliser from Robin van Persie. While, the Old Trafford crowd were sent home in high spirits, it was still a draw, not a victory, and the gap to Chelsea remains 10 points. Furthermore, compared to this time last season, Manchester United were actually one point better off under David Moyes.

Arsenal got back to winning ways with victory away to Sunderland, although the Gunners' performance was far from impressive and did little to encourage fans who felt at the start of the season they could challenge for the title. Indeed, both goals from Alexis Sanchez came from defensive errors by the Black Cats, who are clearly still reeling from their 8-0 defeat at the hands of Southampton last weekend. The pressure mounts on Gus Poyet.

Liverpool are still struggling to recreate their impressive form from last season, drawing a blank against Hull at Anfield. Mario Balotelli is still waiting for his first Premier League goal for the Reds and Brendan Rodgers will hope he finds his form soon with a tough run of fixtures coming up - Swansea in the Capital One Cup, a rejuvenated Newcastle away in the league and Read Madrid in the Champions League.

Of course, the Reds aren't the only team yet to impress in the league. Tottenham lost to Newcastle at home and are now down to eleventh in the table. While the White Hart Lane faithful are growing concerned with Mauricio Pochettino, Alan Pardew has briefly lifted the pressure off his shoulders after back-to-back victories.
