Your support helps us to tell the story
From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it's investigating the financials of Elon Musk's pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, 'The A Word', which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.
At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.
The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.
Your support makes all the difference.Tottenham must recover from defeat in the League Cup final when they host Swansea tonight.
Swansea, who haven’t won a point at White Hart Lane since 1930, will be hoping to take advantage of the home side’s drop in recent form.
After being knocked out of the Europa League and losing the League Cup last week, Tottenham’s focus will now shift entirely to a top four finish in the Premier League whilst Swansea aim to secure a Europa League place.
A win for the away side could take Swansea within a point of their opponents whilst a loss for Tottenham could seriously dent their Champions League hopes. Three points would see Mauricio Pochettino’s side move up to sixth place, though, over-taking Southampton by just a point.
There will be sentiment too, as the late Dave Mackay will be remembered at White Hart Lane – a former Spurs player who many regard as their greatest ever. Mackay was part of the winning side that won the double under Bill Nicholson.
